Who we are

Unkept is a trading name of X Fifteen Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 16122005), 14 Mallard Way, Derby DE24 8GX. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ZC060311) and we are the controller of the information you give us on unkept.org. Contact us about your data at privacy@x15group.co.uk.

What we collect

Your answers to the deposit check: when your tenancy started, who you paid, whether you received a certificate, the rough deposit amount and whether you still live there.
Your first name, mobile number and email address.
Any documents you choose to upload, such as your tenancy agreement or bank statement.
How you reached us: the advert or link you clicked (campaign tags) and your browser type.

Why we use it, and on what basis

To check whether you may have a tenancy deposit claim and to contact you about it by phone, SMS, WhatsApp and email. Basis: your consent, given when you tick the box.
To pass your details and documents to an independent law firm regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, if it looks like you may have a claim. Basis: your consent. We will tell you which firm before they contact you.
To measure which adverts work. Basis: your consent to the Meta cookie (see below).
To keep records we need for regulatory and legal reasons. Basis: legal obligation and our legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

The law firm your case is referred to, and the services that run this site for us: Supabase (database and file storage, London), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email) and, only if you agree to cookies, Meta. We don't sell your data.

Cookies

We only set a cookie if you say yes. It is Meta's advertising cookie (the Meta Pixel), which tells us whether people who saw our adverts went on to complete the check. Say no and nothing is set. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser.

How long we keep it

If you don't go ahead with a claim, we delete your information within 24 months of your last contact with us. If your case is referred, the law firm keeps its own records under its own privacy notice.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent at any time by emailing privacy@x15group.co.uk. Withdrawing consent stops future contact. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
